The little brother of the original Let it Roll, located on an airport of Milovice, a small town near Prague in Czech Republic, came to rescue the rave in 2021. Limited to only 5000 people, the two day festival featured most of the biggest Drum n’ Bass artists in the world.
Having a total number of 3 stages, this is how the full lineup looked like:
* Temple stage: Simple Souls, Ripple, Rido, Tom Finster, Koven, Netsky, Camo & Krooked B2B Mefjus, A.M.C, Neonlight B2B Pythius, Nuex, Tom Small, Sinful Maze, Madface, The caracal project & Skylark, Andromedik, iManu, Metrik, Noisia, Kanine, Zombie cats, Forbidden Society
* Portal stage: Excentric, Woice, Tod, Beast Jane Fallen Gemeni, Magenta, No money, Thiew, Mustaffa & Sheriff, Holotrope, The Prophecy, QO, Volume Plus, Pixie, Basstien, El waca & kru, Heft & Towie, Snookey, Lee Meow, Loudbeat, Beaty, Halbax, N:Force, Bifidus Aktif & Akira, X.Morph, Upfockerz, Cockroach, A-Cray, Schooler, PE : TE, Switch
* LIR BUS stage: Gon, Voidesc, Dejfunk, Trjn, Igor, Ph8ton, Towie, Malcuth & Facutum, Öwlie, Moongose, Thez, Slwdwn, Notequal

After a smooth train ride from Berlin to Prague, a little visiting of the city, some difficulties in finding the train station, another train to Milovice and an Uber to the airport, we arrived at the festival.
We set up our tent in the standard camp and went to check out Let it Roll. We first noticed the Portal stage which was basically a circus tent. And if you turned left there was the main stage, Temple. The looks were exactly as it’s name, with a stone looking design, Moai statue looking faces in the front that blew smoke out of its nose and vines around the Dj.
And at last, there was the LIR Bus, which was located in the food court. It an abandoned rusted bus, with lots of metal parts in the front that made it look like it was taken straight out of Madmax.

In the first day Koven was the first one to pick up the pace on the main stage. She plays a combination of DnB with some Dubstep and also some MC parts which were done by her. Right after, Netsky went on stage saying: “Let’s take this to the next level” and he really did, with an awesome set.
Then, Camo & Krooked B2B had one of their first live sets, but their Let it Roll set was much more aggressive then the set they had on YouTube.
Following, A.M.C did his magic, while all of the artists from that day created a mini party on the stage.
In the second day, El waca & Kru were the first ones to play some music. Starting the day with some smooth old school rap on vinyl, while people were finishing their breakfast.
Everything was going smooth that day, with some really good unexpected DJ’s from the LIR Bus stage and some from the portal stage accompanied by a burning hot sun.
Unfortunately, by the time that Andromedik begun his set, a very powerful rain started and we had to run to our tents. After an hour or so of hiding from the rain, it finally stopped.
It rained so hard that the show had to be postponed and you could barely walk because of the mud.
Then Noisia, which were on their Farewell Tour, went on stage. They ended their set playing their newest collaboration with Skrillex, Supersonic.
Some things that could have been improved at Let it Roll would be adding some hand disinfectant points, as there wasn’t much to no disinfectant. One more thing is the food court, as it wasn’t really good and rather expensive.
Overall, I was happy to be a savior at Let it Roll: Save the Rave 2021 and I am looking forward to seeing more events like this.
See you next time!

Let It Roll nu face compromisuri.

]]>Oh, yeah, we also have a mini after movie that will help you get an idea. Because Let It Roll needs to be felt on your own!

Let It Roll, is the biggest drum and bass festival in the world at which we had the pleasure to participate this year. So, what should you expect from this festival regarding the music and artists? I will tell you right away.
Since Let It Roll is the biggest dnb festival, every year you have mostly all the dnb artists playing there, probably it would be easier to count the ones that are not. The 2018 headliners were: Andy C, Pendulum, Camo & Krooked, Wilkinson, Netsky, Noisia, and many more.
For 3 days and nights you will have to choose and run between 9+ stages and more than 330 artists. That’s true DnB love. For us this was a big challenge, because they are so many, in such a short time and of course many of them were playing at the same time. Too bad we can’t access the cloning systems. Every night they hosted different labels and genres, from jump up, to neurofunk, to liquid and many others. I can trully say that this is the dnb heaven. It gets really tricky with so many artists and genres to choose from, and it is really hard sometimes to make a decision without regretting it and maybe thing of the other artist you had to let go. Since some stages are a little bit far away from each other it’s not easy to mingle between them. As an example, from the main stage to the factory stage it took you around 10-15 minutes to get from one to the other, and it gets really exhausting at some point to run around like the music addict you are :). You also need a little time to rest and maybe have some water, and, of course, in that time you’re missing someone’s set. And you do not want that. That’s why on the road we tried to make a personal schedule with the artists that we wanted to see, but our suggestion is not to stick 100% to the plans that you’re making from home because after that you’ll be disappointed you didn’t get to see all of them. It’s good to have it, but on the spot the mood you are in will count a lot. As an example, you can be the biggest fan of The Prototypes and you will get to see their set and maybe it may be too aggressive for the mood that you’re in. So you will move on to another stage where you may find something to suit your feelings.
Let’s start with the first night. The music at the smaller stages starts at 14:00, and at the bigger ones around 18:00. The main stage was not open the first day, so on Thursday the Factory stage was the main focus. We enjoyed Hospitality vs. Ram Records, Fred V & Grafix, Rene Lavice, London Electricity, Delta Heavy, Metrik and Calyx & Teebee and many others. We loved Delta Heavy and Metrik, their sets were amazing. That night The Madhouse was the main attraction for us, as they hosted Thechinque vs. Viper, and we had the pleasure to discover Insideinfo, Tantrum Desire and Matrix & Futurebound. Tantrum Desire was a surprise for us, especially when we heard their remix on Twenty One Pilots- Heathens (https://soundcloud.com/tantrumdesire/twenty-one-pilots-heathens-tantrum-desire-bootleg ).
At The Portal stage we had Exit vs. Shogun Audio with Technimatic, Friction( Classic Set), Alix Perez and Icicle, and at the Schredder stage we feasted on Neurofunk with Teddy Killerz, Gydra, Abis & Signal and Joe Ford.
Friday night was the big night for us, it was the night with the grand Opening Show at The Main stage. Beside the Opening Show, we had the chance to see our favourite artists: the legendary Andy C which literally blew us away with his set and energy, Wilkinson, SASASAS, and Maduk were all dreams that came true. The Factory stage also hosted the Brazillian star Dj Marky which is always a pleasure to see, he gets you to dance no matter what. Friction, Hype B2B Hazard, Killbox and Dirtyphonics were the other stars that lit the stage. At Madhouse we had Jump-Up All Stars with the crazy group King Of The Rollers, Turno, Annix and Nu Elementz. The Portal was under the control of Get Hype Vs. Titan, the British duo The Prototypes, A.M.C. and Mind Vortex. For the ones which were looking for a more heavy sound, the Schredder also offered Therapy Sessions with Forbidden Society, Katharsys, and Hallucinator.
Saturday night was the toughest for us since we had so many artists that we wanted to see at the same time. Happily, we managed to catch most of them. The Main stage hosted Pendulum, Netsky, Camo & Krooked, Dimension, Noisia and Mefjus. Camo and Krooked’s set was FREAKING AWESOME!
Noisia’s set was also out of this world, especially when he dropped his remix on Pendulum – Hold your colour. At The Factory stage we had Blackout Vs. Critical with State of Mind, Black Sun Empire, and The Upbeats. The Madhouse hosted Zardonic, TC, 1991 and Eatbrain League. The Portal got more liquid during the last night with Hybrid Minds, Nu:Logic, LSB and BCEE.
It was, of course, one of the best experiences of our lives and we are looking forward to the next ones! Let It Roll!

We arrived at the festival thursday arround 6 o’clock, after a long ride with the bus from Cluj Napoca. They are organizing Buses which are going from different countries directly to the festival, which is really helpful. After the long ride, we arrived and we were ready to party, but before that we need to settle down first. How the festival takes place on an abandoned air base, you don’t really get a lot of shade, so if you have a pavilion at home you should definitely bring it, it will make the difference. We didn’t had one, so during the day because it was incredibly hot outside, like over 35 degrees, we took our sleeping bags and went outside the festival area where it was a little forest, and just chilled there for a few hours, it is even better if you have a hammock.
If you don’t feel like chilling in the forest, don’t worry, LIR has some alternatives for you. They organized all kind of fun day activities, like water slide, dnb step contest, graffiti, fuss ball, workouts, and they even had bungee jumping, but we didn’t had the courage to do it… maybe next year.
Okay, the days are a lot of fun, but during the night everything changes, the whole place takes a new form. The 9 stages are telling a story of their new chapter, and the most impressive one is the main stage. The Opening Show that their having every year, told the story of the robots which are battling for the portal, but at the end their realizing that they are the only one remaining from their species so they should help each other.
You can watch the whole Opening Show here:
We were running between the stages the whole 3 nights to catch our favorite artists, and while we did that we were watching all the people there, everyone was smiling, everyone was having a great time, there were people with all kind of inflatable things, like dinosaurs, and bananas and all kind of phosphorescent accessories, which made the festival look alive. One of the most beautiful things was that nobody cared how you were looking, or how you were dancing, you could be yourself there and nobody would judge you. When we were dancing, everyone besides us danced with us, and talked with us, because we had at least one thing in common, we were all here for the love of Drum&Bass, and that feeling it was simply beautiful.
So if you like dnb, I’m telling you, this is the place for you to be. We will definitely be there next year.

Also, stay close for our Let It Roll after film!
